Oh the wonders

First Thing:
I know it's been a long time.  I've had lots of good post ideas . . . but I haven't found the time and thus, I've forgotten them.  December has been a busy month, filled with fun, but crazy.  I went from a crazy few weeks at work, a Christmas party, an engagement party, shooting at the range (FINALLY), to Christmas!!  Nate and I were supposed to leave for CO on Wendesday afternoon, December 22.  Instead we left early Thursday morning, December 23.  After a 13 hour drive to Greeley, Colorado, we finally made it and spent a quiet evening with family.  Friday, December 24 was filled with shopping, and, after years and years, a Broken tradition.  My family opened gifts on Christmas Eve, which is something we have NEVER done.  I guess this is what happens when someone gets married, traditions go out the window.  Christmas morning Nate and enjoyed breakfast and then took left over pizza for lunch on the road.  We began our 7 hour (8 with a time change) drive to Bellevue, Nebraska around 11:45.  Unfortunately places are not open in small town Nebraska on Christmas day (after 6) and we were starving (poor planning on our part). We arrived at the Nortons' around 8 and enjoyed dinner (!) and presents.  Sunday, December 26 was filled with family (and a friend from Iraq) and Monday, December 27 we left around 7.  Instead of heading home after our 10 hour drive, we headed to my parents for another Christmas (and then home around 10 pm).  Looking back I'm not sure we were even able to breath on this trip.  We spent  30 hours driving and roughly 36 hours at each location.  I'm not sure we'll ever do that again.
It was an interesting Christmas and never quite felt like Christmas.  I'm beginning to think that I need to rethink how Christmas feels now that I'm married.  This could, if Nate and I are feeling adventurous, become our new Christmas tradition.
[Our dear friend Mark came in to town on Wednesday, December 29, leaving Nate and I one day to recouperate]  It's nice to lay on my couch watching RHoA on Bravo and Iron Chef on Food Network and not have to listen to annoying YouTube videos in the background.  I have my house back (now that Nate and Mark are hunting for a few days) and can actually unwind from the crazy Christmas I had.

Second Thing:
My New Year's resolution is to be a less selfish wife.  Nate is the best husband (I know I'm biased, but others would agree) in the world.
-He puts toothpaste on my toothbrush when he brushes his teeth so it's ready for me when I brush my teeth.
-He jumps in bed and warms up my side of the bed because I hate crawling in to cold sheets.
-He surprises me with Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream when he goes grocery shopping -(and yes goes grocery shopping!)
-He refuses to let me do the dishes after I cook dinner.
-He cooks dinner for us sometimes and it's delicious (Monday night is burger night)
-He does all the laundry
The list goes on but this post is already extremely long.  The things he does for me are so perfectly fit for me.  I am going to try and be a lot more conscientious of what he needs from me.  I am going to be less selfish and try to be more active in doing things that are perfectly fit for him.  I have a concrete list of things.  But for now, he's out of town so I can rest and prepare (although some things have been in the works for the past few weeks).
