Fall is here

First Thing:
September 21, 2011, was the first day of Fall.  Usually in Dallas it doesn't actually feel like Fall on the first day of Fall but today, it did.  I was sitting in my car reading my Bible before going in to work and I heard little tinks on my car.  The tinks were from leaves the wind was blowing up from the ground and down from the trees.  It was a glorious discover.  On my walk into work, I almost got goosebumps because of the slight chill in the wind.  Best season ever.

Second Thing:
I spent Friday night catching up on Grey's Anatomy and enjoying a Taco Bell dinner date with Nate after his calculus test.  I then spent the morning watching Grey's Anatomy until Nate was released early from guard (because he has to report at 4:00 am tomorrow morning but will get released early again!).  I enjoyed delicious barbecue from Railhead Barbecue in Ft. Worth. Nate brought home his (and the other boys') leftovers for me to enjoy.  Their cup says "Life's too short to live in Dallas", which I find hilarious.  It's delicious.  Then Nate and I spent the afternoon in bed watching videos.  I watched more of Grey's Anatomy and Nate watched physics videos (yes, he's a giant nerd).  Now we're enjoying the Husker game and at half time we'll have some chicken burgers.  Nate told me he was glad I did nothing today because I work hard all week.  Yes, it was nice.  Best day ever.

Third Thing:
Nate also gave me my birthday present early.  He surprised me with a trip to Chicago to join my sister over her Fall break.  I couldn't be happier.  My ticket is purchased, my vacation will be paid, and I'll be using my free comp nights at a Hyatt hotel in Chicago.  Plus, I'll be seeing my sister Lauren!!!  Best present ever.
